We are currently working to develop and organize a Net Control Team that will serve the community by organizing, hosting and maintaining weekly nets on as many of our GMRS repeaters as possible. Currently we have nets running on The Woodlands 700, Carlos 725, and Richmond 625 repeaters. And Adrian, WSBR718 just announced that he will be starting a net on the Memorial Park Repeater as of 1/27/2026! We applaud Adrian for stepping up and filling that very important role, but he's going to need help. It's best to have multiple net controllers for each repeater so that the net will run every week even when 1 operator is unavailable for whatever reason. So, I strongly encourage each of you to consider volunteering for a Net Control position on whatever repeaters you can clearly communicate through. Once you join this team, you will receive lots of support from the other team members in the way of helpful documentation, 1 on 1 advise and encouragement, web-based tools and more. You will also have an opportunity to influence the community in a big way by choosing the Net Topic, Format, Style and all. When you run a net, you do it your way and have fun with it. If you are having fun with it, others will enjoy it more and many will want to participate. These nets do a lot to keep the repeaters alive and healthy, and it takes a number of passionate individuals to keep the nets alive.
